PRIORITIES

HEALTH CARE

Central Virginia saw the highest health insurance premium spikes in the country last year, and we can’t wait for a federal solution to our local problem. State leaders need to step up and expand public health insurance options so that every Virginian can afford quality care.

EDUCATION

Virginia is home to some of the strongest public schools in the country and also its most deeply unequal districts. The promise of public education is incomplete until we secure it for every child. As Delegate, I’ll make sure Richmond invests in the resources we need to serve all our students well.

Energy

Our climate crisis is already here. Charlottesville and Albemarle are a hub for innovative energy firms, and we should be leading the way to a clean energy future. It’s time to invest in clean, local power producers and say no to fracked gas pipelines.

JUSTICE

Nowhere do we fall further short of “liberty and justice for all” than our criminal justice code. We need reformers in Richmond who will decriminalize poverty, dismantle mass incarceration, and re-route public resources toward positive support services that help our community thrive.

HOUSING

Our housing shortage is straining so many families: first-time homebuyers and long-time residents, local renters, and commuting workers. With more funding and flexibility from Richmond, our local leaders can expand housing options for all those who call this community home.

DEMOCRACY

Virginia’s lax election laws let corporations run the show in Richmond. We need to empower voters so that every Virginian’s voice is heard. Reforms like automatic registration, independent redistricting, and ranked choice voting will help revive a real, responsive democracy.
